BEEF STEW

Mom

 

stewing beef or steak

bacon fat

2 medium size onions

some celery, finely chopped

1 slice of turnip, finely chopped

2 carrots

small amount cabbage, finely chopped

2 carrots

2 or 3 large potatoes, diced to desired size

1 pkg onion soup mix

 

Chop up meat and fry in bacon fat with the onions and celery.

Fry until brown.

Add turnip and carrots.

Barely cover with water and boil 10 minutes.

Add cabbage and potatoes and simmer.

Pour in 1 cup water.

Simmer until vegetables are tender.

Add onion soup mix.
