1 LB. LEAN GROUND BEEF

1 CUP SOFT BREAD CRUMBS

1 EGG, SLIGHTLY BEATEN

2 TBSP. FRESH ONION, MINCED

3/4 CUP CRUSHED PINEAPPLE, DRAINED

2 TBSP. MILK

1 CLOVE GARLIC, MINCED

1 TSP. SALT

DASH PEPPER

1 TBSP. VEGETABLE OIL

2/3 CUP CHILI SAUCE

2/3 CUP RED CURRANT JELLY

 

MIX INGREDIENTS DOWN TO AND INCLUDING PEPPER.

FORM INTO BITE SIZED BALLS, 1/2 TO 3/4 INCH.

BROWN MEATBALLS LIGHTLY IN OIL.

COVER AND SIMMER 10 MINUTES.

DRAIN EXCESS FAT.

COMBINE CHILI SAUCE AND JELLY AND POUR OVER MEATBALLS.

HEAT, STIRRING OCCASIONALLY, UNTIL JELLY IS MELTED.

SIMMER 10 TO 12 MINUTES UNTIL SAUCE HAS THICKENED.

BASTE OCCASIONALLY.

MAKES ABOUT 40 APPETIZERS (3/4 CUP SAUCE)
